Glossary

Every CAST term in one place.

Almost graduated
A token whose bonding curve has raised at least half of its graduation target. Explore has a filter for it. More about Almost graduated
Basis point (bps)
One hundredth of a percent. 100 bps = 1%, 10,000 bps = 100%. The contracts store every fee and share in bps. More about Basis point (bps)
Bonding curve
Where every CAST token trades first. The Fee Hook sells and buys back tokens at a price set by a fixed formula, which rises as people buy, until the token graduates. More about Bonding curve
Bot Tax
An extra fee on buys right after launch that falls to 0% within 24 hours. Every buyer in that window pays it. More about Bot Tax
Breakpoint
One (time, value) point in a rule's schedule. A rule has up to eight. More about Breakpoint
Burn share
The part of the creator's 80% of each fee that is taken in tokens and destroyed. More about Burn share
CAST Router
The contract this site trades through. It names the trader to the Fee Hook so Hold Streak discounts apply. More about CAST Router
Creator allocation
Tokens a creator keeps for themselves, up to 10% of supply, held in the token contract until the lock ends. More about Creator allocation
End date
The moment every time-based rule freezes at its last value. The token is Locked In from then on. More about End date
Fairness grade
A score from A to F the Rulebook computes from a token's sealed rules. More about Fairness grade
Fee Clock
The panel on each token page that shows what a buy and a sell cost right now and when that next changes. More about Fee Clock
Fee Hook
The Uniswap v4 hook on every CAST pool. It runs each token's bonding curve, charges the sealed fees, adds the pool's only liquidity at graduation and refuses every other liquidity change. More about Fee Hook
Fee Recipient
The contract that sets where CAST's 20% share is paid. Its controller, meant to be a CAST multisig (a Safe), can change that address and manage the pair list, nothing else. More about Fee Recipient
Graduation
The moment a token's bonding curve raises its target. In that same transaction, everything the curve raised and the rest of the tokens go into one locked Uniswap v4 position, and the token trades in its pool from then on. More about Graduation
Graduation target
How much of the paired asset a token's curve raises before it graduates, about $10,000: 4.2 ETH or 10,000 USDG, for example. Set per pair in the Pairs contract and fixed for each token at launch. More about Graduation target
Hold Streak
How long a wallet has held a token. A sell fee can follow it, so longer holders pay less. More about Hold Streak
Holder rewards
The holders' share of each fee, paid in the token's paired asset and streamed out within 24 hours of the latest deposit. More about Holder rewards
Launcher
The contract that creates CAST tokens, opens their bonding curves and creates their pools. More about Launcher
Locked In
The last stage. Every time-based rule stays at its final value forever. A sell fee that follows Hold Streak still depends on each seller's streak. More about Locked In
Max wallet
The most one wallet may hold, as a share of the original supply. More about Max wallet
Pair list
The approved assets new tokens can be paired with, and the bonding curve for each, kept by the Pairs contract (CastPairs). The Fee Recipient's controller can list or close a pair, or change its curve, which only affects new launches. More about Pair list
Paired asset
The asset a token trades against, chosen at launch from the pair list: ETH, USDG or a stock token. Buyers pay with it, and fees, holder rewards and sells are paid in it. It can't change after launch. More about Paired asset
Permit
A free signature (EIP-2612) that lets CAST take an exact amount of an ERC-20, such as USDG, in the same transaction as a buy or launch, instead of a separate approval. More about Permit
Profile
Your wallet's page, with tabs for Holdings, Trades, Launches and Creator fees. You collect rewards and creator fees there. More about Profile
Quoter
A read-only contract that returns a full fee breakdown for any trade. More about Quoter
Rule template
A full set of rules someone made on CAST, with a name and a short description. Public ones are listed in the Rulebook gallery, where anyone can save them or launch from them. They live on CAST, not on-chain, and their author can edit or delete them. More about Rule template
Rulebook
Two things share the name. The Rulebook contract holds the safety limits and the grading formula. The Rulebook page on this site is the gallery of rule templates people made on CAST. More about Rulebook
Schedule
How a rule changes over time: a list of breakpoints, read as steps or straight lines. More about Schedule
Sealed
Written into the token's contract at launch with no way to change it. More about Sealed
Shield window
Up to 24 hours after launch when buy and sell fees may go up to 25%. Bot Tax has its own limit and doesn't depend on it. More about Shield window
Sign-in
A free signature CAST asks for right after you connect a wallet. The message starts “Sign in to CAST” and sends no transaction. It lasts 30 days and lets you make and save rule templates and change your token's image and links without signing each change. You don't need it to trade. More about Sign-in
Stage
Where a token is in its life: Launch, Shield, Growth or Locked In. More about Stage
Template
A ready-made set of rules to start a launch from. More about Template
