Privacy
The short version
CAST has no sign-up and no analytics or advertising trackers. We never ask for your name, email or keys. If you sign in with your wallet, we set one cookie and store your wallet address with your session. We also store the rule templates you make or save, and the image and links creators add to their tokens.
Your wallet address
When you connect a wallet, the website reads your address to show your balances, rewards and trades. Blockchains are public: your address and every transaction you send can be seen by anyone, forever. Our indexer also stores public on-chain trades, which include the trading address.
Signing in
Right after you connect a wallet, CAST asks it to sign a message that starts “Sign in to CAST”. Signing is free and sends no transaction. You can decline and still trade, launch and collect rewards. You need to be signed in to make or save rule templates, and it lets a creator change their token's image and links without a new signature each time.
When you sign in, our server stores your wallet address, a one-time code from the message and the session's start and end times. Your browser gets a cookie named cast_session. It holds a random token, can't be read by scripts on the page and lasts 30 days. We only store a hash of that token. Disconnecting your wallet signs you out and deletes the session.
What we store on our servers
- Sign-in sessions: your wallet address and the session details above, until the session ends.
- Rule templates: the templates you make, with your wallet address as the author, and the templates you save. Public templates show their author's address to everyone. You can delete your templates at any time.
- Template use counts: when you launch from a template on the Rulebook, the token's address and which template it started from.
- Token images and links: the image and the X, Telegram and website links a creator adds to a token, with the creator's wallet address and, if they signed the change, that signature. They are public.
- Public chain data: trades, fees and payouts our indexer reads from the blockchain.
Stored in your browser
A launch you're setting up is saved in your browser's local storage and in the page link, so you can come back to it. So are a rule template you're writing and your preferred view on Explore. Your browser also remembers which wallet you connected, so you stay connected between visits. None of this leaves your device unless you share a launch link. Clearing your browser data removes it, and also removes the sign-in cookie.
Services that see your requests
- Cloudflare hosts the website and its database. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and request details to serve pages, and keeps short-lived logs we use to fix errors.
- Robinhood Chain's public RPC answers the blockchain reads your browser makes, which can include your wallet address.
- Your wallet (for example a browser extension) has its own privacy policy.
- Links to the block explorer open a separate site with its own policy.
